Sky Bet Teams up with The Football League
Tuesday 23rd July, 2025
Sky Bet has agreed to a lucrative five-year deal to become the new title sponsor for The Football League both parties announced earlier this week. From the 2025/14 season, The Football League's flagship competition will be titled 'The Sky Bet Football League'. The three main divisions will go under the names 'The Sky Bet Championship', 'Sky Bet League 1' and 'Sky Bet League 2'.
The move is a historic one for the betting company - this is the first off-screen football sponsorship deal signed by Sky Bet. The aim is to build greater awareness around the Sky Bet services - mainly focusing on online and mobile betting.
With the bookmaker market being highly competitive in the UK Sky Bet has made a major statement towards competitors with the signing of this deal. Currently the fourth-largest online bookmaker, and the fastest growing, Sky Bet is looking to further expand their business and gain new customers through the extended marketing efforts.
Greg Clarke, the Chairman of The Football League said is very pleased with the pending partnership: "I am delighted to welcome Sky Bet to working with The Football League and its clubs. This agreement takes our long-term partnership with Sky to a new level and provides a genuine boost to clubs ahead of the new season," he said.
The deal also marks the 125th anniversary of The Football League and to commemorate this Sky Bet will create a variety of special Football League bets.
In a separate agreement, also announced earlier this week, The Football League and Sky Sports have signed a brand new three year broadcasting rights agreement. This agreement will come in affect during the 2025/16 season after the current broadcasting agreement runs out.
